Playful Plans is an extension of Kevin McGuire's thirty-five-year career as a cabinetmaker and carpenter and eighteen years authoring popular woodworking project titles.

The web site features unique, downloadable plans for vintage-inspired wooden playthings. Every plan includes detailed step-by-step instructions, illustrations, and photos of the finished project. Articles on design and techniques are offered at no cost. Our lively blog features the history, fabrication and cultural context of wooden playthings past, present and future with guest commentators.
